Ottawa County, Michigan Mounted Division, Grand Haven, Ottawa County, MichiganOttawa County Mounted Division 28 members, who work with the Sheriff's department by contract. E. Gedeon is their volunteer contact person. Sgt William DeWitt is the unit coordinator. Thier big fund raiser is the Great Train Robbery were our members volunteer to "rob" the Coopersville to Marne Railway every summer to the delight of several thousand train riders. It's a reenactment as we try to bring the old west to West Michigan.

The Wadena County Sheriff's Posse was formed in 1991. The Posse consists of a group of volunteers and is guided by Sheriff H Michael Carr. Request for Information on 287th Military Mounted Police Unit, Berlin, Germany 1956 to 1958. Paul Hazelton was a member of "The Last Official Tactical Horse Platoon" on active military duty. They used "salvaged" 1939 tack, manuals and related horse equipment. Seems a saber or 2 showed up also. He is requesting anyone with information on his old pals and that unit contact him. Please help an old cavalryman out!
